BRAVO: Hey Kellan, did you know what your last name Lutz actually is a German prename?
Kellan: For sure! That’s because I’ve ancestors in Germany!

BRAVO: Really?!
Kellan: Cool, isn’t it? I’m sort of a German Hollywood-Star [laughs]! I were born in the USA – in Dickinson/North Dakota. But my grandparents are from Munich. That’s why I was there often as a little child. But I was pretty little and can’t remember much.

BRAVO: Do you still speak German?
Kellan: Oh sorry, by now I totally forgot everything. Anyway I have still an especially connection to Germany!

BRAVO: That means you’re feeling right at home here?
Kellan: Kind of. Everything seems familiar. I’m feeling secure here. I love Germany and its long history! I went for some sightseeing: I visited pieces of the Berlin Wall, went to the museum mile and I visited Castle Sansoucci in Potsdam. I’m very interested in this country.

Kellan Lutz Vs. Henry Cavill: Who Would Win In An ‘Immortals’ Fight?
Posted by Nadine • 1 Comment »

MTV Hollywood Crush posted the following:

It’s not often we get excited about nor condone violence in any way. However, when a proposed battle involves the likes of two gorgeous men like Kellan Lutz and Henry Cavill possibly fighting in barely-there Greek togas, we make an exception.

The two hotties will face off against one another in the upcoming “Immortals” (formerly known as “Gods of War”), and when we caught up with “Twilight” hunk recently, we had to ask him who would win in a fight: Kellan’s Greek God of the sea or Henry’s Titan Theseus?

“Well, I play Poseidon so I have that godly aspect,” Kellan said. “But Henry’s a strong kid. It was really fun working with him and seeing him train because he went through months and months of training. I wish I could have a movie where was able to do that because he went through some intense stuff. He’s a buff kid.”

The upcoming film, which also stars Frieda Pinto and Isabel Lucas, is directed by “The Fall”‘s unique visionary, Tarsem Singh. It is slated for release in November 2011.

Kellan: “Being part of the Twilight Saga is a magic carpet ride”
Posted by Jullie • No Comments »

From the ontheredcarpet.com. You can click the pic to watch the video on their website.

Kellan Lutz says he enjoys the media attention surrounding the Twilight films, whose fourth installment, the two-part movie Breaking Dawn, is set to start filming in the fall.

“It’s been a dream to be a part of,” Lutz, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen, adoptive brother of Robert Pattinson’s character Edward, told OnTheRedCarpet.com. “I’m glad it’s been broken into two more movies because then that’s two more years of fun, premieres, red carpets, press junkets, it’s been a magic carpet ride.”

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the vampire romance series starring Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, has made at least $554 million worldwide since its June 30 release.

Kellan Loved Seeing Ashley Greene ‘Transform’ For ‘Warrior’
Posted by Nadine • No Comments »

From MTV:

After playing Ashley Greene’s vampire brother in three “Twilight” movies, it could have been weird for Kellan Lutz to play her love interest in the upcoming movie “Warrior.” But at the 2010 VH1 Do Something Awards, where Lutz won recognition for his work with animals, the actor had the highest praise for his co-star.

In the movie, set for release sometime in 2011, Lutz plays a lacrosse player whose life spirals out of control after his father dies.

“Ashley’s friggin’ talented. It’s really cool to see your friend [in a different way] and to work with a friend, let alone her being so talented, to see her transform from one character to another,” he raved of Greene, who plays a girl named Brooklyn. “Alice is a fun little pixie character, and then Brooklyn, you know, is a sweet, lacrosse-player type of coach’s daughter. It’s fun working with her and seeing her transform herself.”

Despite their on-screen romance in “Warrior,” Lutz said that in real life he and Ashley are like brother and sister. “It’s very much like working with family,” he explained.

Bravo.de Interview with Kellan – Translation
Posted by Nadine • 4 Comments »

Bravo.de got the chance to interview Kellan when he was in germany. Huge thanks to Franzi for translating the interview for us. Full interview after the cut.

Monique wanted to know: Which scene was the hardest one for you?
Kellan: The hardest scene was the one I’m falling into the water. You’re trying, to act like a vampire, but vampires don’t breath, they don’t hyperventilate, they’re already cold as ice. So you’re not allowed to look like you’re cold. And this river was extremely cold! And I was wet all over, and it was raining and I was gasping, and David Slade said: “Act like you’re angry at the wolf.” So I did that, but it was really hard, continue to play the vampire, if you’re not allowed to show human feelings.

Dany wanted to know: Was there a scene you had to repeat often?
Kellan: It’s difficult to shoot an epic fight, as it was with the battle scene at the end of the movie. This was a huge thing and we, the Cullens, are all in and are fighting together with the werewolves, what makes the whole thing harder, too, because you’re not really fighting with the werewolves, but with those cardboard figures. It was really hard; we had six weeks fight-training, so that we don’t blow it up, when we’re shooting the scene in the end. Many people are fighting there at the same time, about 30, so everything has to fit. You mustn’t blow it up, because then we have to shoot it again.
