Kellan Lutz has invented a multi-purpose omelette maker
Posted by Nadine • 2 Comments »

musicrooms.net reports the following.

The Twilight hunk has always had a passion for creating things and even studied chemical engineering before he catapulted to fame.

The brainy actor says he tries to make his busy life easier by inventing products which will save his time.

The star’s latest creation is a machine that allows him to create tasty egg-based dishes in a short amount of time.

“I tried to make an omelette maker. It’s out there on the market but I tried to make it on my own,” he told Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O radio show.

He then went on to reveal the details of his crazy invention and confessed that store-built omelette makers may be more practical.

“You have toast that pops and I attach a frying unit where I can cook my eggs also with melted cheese. It doesn’t exactly turn out like the ones you can buy but it turns out well,” said the proud star.

Kellan has always been interested in design and has expanded his inventing to other areas including mechanics.

“I have a fascination with creating random things. I love making my life easier by tweaking different objects in the kitchen and car,” he said. “I have a weird invention bug.”

Kellan talks about unusual fan encounters and his protective Kola
Posted by Jullie • 3 Comments »

From Digital Spy:

Kellan Lutz has revealed that his pet dog helps to protect him from over-enthusiastic fans.

The Twilight star admitted that the pet doesn’t like females approaching him.

According to Bang Showbiz, he said: “I can run fast now! I also have a dog that doesn’t like females. She’s pretty protective!”

Lutz also revealed some of the unusual encounters that he has with fans: “I was naked [in a spa] and this guy walked by and said, ‘You’re Kellan Lutz! I’m a big fan’. I was sitting there butt-naked under the water and he just continued to talk for ten minutes.”

He added: “Recently a fan brought handcuffs to a convention that I was at. I didn’t really pay attention to what she said, but she actually said, ‘Do you mind if I handcuff myself to you?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, do it!’ Then I heard this clunk-click noise of metal – and she almost got to me. Luckily, security stepped in.”

Lutz stars in the latest Twilight film Eclipse, which is out now.

Cop Kellan Lutz’s Favorite Scent!
Posted by Nadine • 2 Comments »

Us Magazine posted the following small article.

All hot and bothered over The Twilight Saga: Eclipse? If your vampire of choice is Emmett (AKA Kellan Lutz), experience his lifestyle by spritzing on his signature scent. UsMagazine.com has learned that Lutz favors Axe Body Spray. Their newest scent is Dark Temptation, a luscious gourmand scent with notes of musk and chocolate that’s made for men, but sexy enough to be worn by women.

Axe Dark Temptation is easy on the wallet, but the aroma — and its story — is super rich! In May, I journeyed to the South of France and visited I.F.F., the fine fragrance house that designed the scent. The “nose” (that’s beauty speak for someone who creatively develops fragrances) behind Dark Tempation, Ann Gottlieb, created some of the most iconic perfumes in history, including Dior’s top selling J’Adore and Calvin Klein’s ckone. Here’s what I learned: The same focus and genius natural ingredients that go into the priciest perfumes, go into Axe.

Posted by Nadine • 3 Comments »

From ontheflix.com:

Kellan Lutz talks Twilight ‘Breaking Dawn’ baby scenes & more. “Twilight Saga,” Emmit Cullen movie star Kellan Lutz recently gave an interview to Dose over in Canada, and he talked about more about the upcoming “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” movie amongst other things. He revealed how excited he is to get started filming the movie, filming the baby scenes,Kristen turning into a vampire, and more.

He revealed that he doesn’t mind sitting through two hours of make-up for Twilight just yet. He stated, I really am. I haven’t really sensed an ending coming up for the Twilight saga. I don’t want it to end because I love my character. I don’t mind going through two hours of makeup and putting in those annoying contacts just to be my character, because I have this happiness when I transform into him. And to get to do two more premieres, two more press junkets and have twice as long to travel around the world to meet fans is awesome. It’s just so easy. The movies don’t take too long to shoot and it’s a nice reunion with the rest of the cast.

To cap it off, he talked about being excited to see how they will film “Breaking Dawn.” He stated, I really can’t wait to see how they’re going to do the whole baby thing. I’m just really excited to see how Melissa Rosenberg is going to write it. And also when they’re going to make part A stop and part B start. Is it before Bella transforms into a vampire? I can’t wait to read the script!

Eclipse Costume Trivia
Posted by Jullie • 1 Comment »

EW.com has an article about the costume designer of Eclipse, and Tish Monaghan reveals some secrets from the wardrobe closets, including one of Kellan‘s character that you can read below:

Emmett wears lighter colors than the other Cullens to showcase Kellan Lutz’s muscles.
“Absolutely,” Monaghan says, when asked if this theory about his Old Navy hoodie is correct. “I also knew that the focus was going to be on him and his chase with Victoria in the woods, so I just really wanted to make sure that he stood out amongst all the dark backgrounds…. You probably won’t notice, but I made a very conscious decision to have the Cullens move through the color palette. They’re in lighter colors when they first hunt Victoria. The next big scene, when they’re in their workout wear, they’re in sort of midtones. Then when they have the final battle, that’s when I put them all in black, because I wanted them to be more stealth-like.”

indieLondon talks to Kellan Lutz And Alex Meraz
Posted by Nadine • No Comments »

Kellan Lutz and Alex Meraz talk about some of their experiences of shooting the Twilight franchise, including the latest movie, Eclipse. They also discuss why the franchise is so popular and some of their craziest fan experiences.

Q. Can you believe, looking back to the first film, that this franchise has become what it’s now become?
Kellan Lutz: You tend to fall in love with your characters, which is very unique. For myself, I love Emmett and I love playing him, and its going to be sad when you close the chapter to each book because it’s been a huge part of our lives. We’re like a family and have built this semi unit on and off set. But it’s really a blessing to be part of a franchise that allows you to continue on to do the sequel and to make the third book into a movie. Eclipse was my favourite book to read out of the series. I’m really impressed with the action and the mix between the love stories. I haven’t seen the movie yet and I can’t wait to see it tonight, but it’s really exciting to finish something off like this.

Q. You’ve been able to travel all over the world as part of the Twilight franchise. So, what’s your favourite city? And why?
Kellan Lutz: Mine would be the Dominican Republic – the people there, the dancing, the food… just the culture itself. A lot of people don’t have much there and they’re so thankful. When I went there, I found this inner happiness within myself that I’d kind of lost. You kind of lose it when you’re in the States and you have so much opportunity. But then also the nature there… I’ve never see dragonflies this big and the waterfalls so pristine. It’s a very romantic, beautiful place.

Q. Do you have a favourite memory from shooting Eclipse?
Kellan Lutz: For myself, it involves Jackson Rathbone and myself… We had some fun times with our fight scenes and our little oopsy daisy moments when I hit him and knocked him out a little bit! But he was a true trooper. He got up and started gurgling his words and mumbling… but then also off set, he’d just finished The Last Airbender, so he’s become a mischievous little Jackson lately. He thinks he can just take the world on, so we’d get into trouble off-set and there were some really great times doing that.

An Afternoon with Kellan Lutz
Posted by Nadine • 2 Comments »

The German website Twilight-Fans.de got a chance to talk to Kellan when we was in Berlin. Thanks to Barbara from Twilight-Fans.de for sending us an English translation.

Kellan greeted us in a charming way while shaking hands and asked everyone’s names. At this point let’s mention, that usually he appears more burly in pictures. It always feels like ‘Wow, what a man’, though in person he is a normal young guy who obviously goes in for sports regularly.

After the greeting was done we all sat down at a round table and Kellan – quite a gentleman – offered us something to drink.

By a fluke Sannie (AnnCullen) got the chance to take part in that interview as well and joined us shortly after. As she entered the room immediately Kellan stood up and greeted her like he greeted us before.

Then the interview began and Mona asked the first question: Has Kellan been in Germany before? He said that it was his first time in Berlin and he’d done some sightseeing already. For example he visited the Berlin Wall and the castle Sansoucci in Potsdam. There he used an audio player that was offered to the tourists giving more background information about the certain places and for Kellan it was very interesting. Because of his affinity towards technologies he fumbled around with the player and accidentally chose the German audio track. Due to his German roots he understood some words.

In response to the question if there was something he would like to ask his fans he answered that he is involved in a lot of charity projects which is very important to him. Thanks to his work he is able to meet many people of all ages and it’s always lots of fun to spend time with them and to exchange certain point of views. He told us that he advocated a lot of projects, especially those regarding to children, because they are near to his heart and ‘Children are our future.’
In addition he is very much interested in his fans and therefore uses the Social Network Medium Twitter (@kellanlutz) to communicate with them. Through this he finds out a lot about the different interests of his fans from different cultures.

The Eclipse stars speak to the after-school initiative
Posted by Nadine • No Comments »

From MTV.co.uk:

14-year-old FILMCLUB junior reporter Kira joined the UK press on the red carpet at the star-studded premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and spoke to stars of the film Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and new vampire bad boy Xavier Samuel (Riley).

Among the questions Kira asked them was:

What do you think makes Twilight so popular?
Kellan Lutz – It’s the love story – the endless love story. Everyone falls in love but (the Twilight films) take this to the extreme in every way – it’s really unique.

Twilight is huge for my generation, so what were you watching when you were my age? What films have inspired you?
Kellan Lutz- I grew up watching films, but I didn’t grow up wanting to be an actor I just fell into it. I was going to a school for Chemical Engineering in LA and got a call that pushed me in the right direction to act. I don’t see it (acting) as work, it’s a hobbie that I’m really passionate about. I love it. I love auditioning when most people think I’m crazy as that’s meant to be the hardest part – the most annoying part, but I love it, I love testing who I am.

Terrific Twitter Trio of the Week: Twilight Edition
Posted by Jullie • 1 Comment »

Spin.com has an article about the top 3 Twilight Twitter accounts, telling you why you should follow them. Kellan is on the list with his co-stars Peter Facinelli and Ashley Greene.
We all know why we should follow him, but it is really nice to read it, anyways. ;)

Kellan Lutz
@kellanlutz

Why You Should Follow: Don’t be fooled by Kellan Lutz‘s creepy Twitter background (it’s a picture of the actor covered in fake blood, giving the camera a murderous stare) — this vampire’s got a heart of gold. Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series, uses his Twitter page to spread awareness about the various charities he supports. Lately, he’s been touting the efforts of the Noreen Fraser Foundation, which funds research to cure women’s cancers, and the St. Bernard Project, which is focused on rebuilding New Orleans and providing relief for Hurricane Katrina survivors. He’s also been active in supporting the cleanup of the Gulf oil spill, urging his fans to donate money and learn more about what can be done to save the Gulf (“Just watched some amazing videos on how HAY and WHEAT GRASS soak up oil and can be such a life saving solution for the oil spill”). Bonus points: He often tweets “Happy birthday” to his fans!

Best Tweet of the Week: To fans waiting outside the ‘Eclipse‘ premiere, he wrote, “Let me know who you are and if your going to have a sign or anything and what it might look like and or any way I can remember who is who… so i can properly say hello by name and give you a big hug and thank you!”
